The Mango token can help solve several problems

Despite years of growth, the marketplace for organic foods and sustainable products is quite fragmented, with many intermediaries and specialty producers and retailers. 

Consumers searching for organic foods or low-carbon-footprint products are often forced to pay high prices to local specialty dealers with bricks-and-mortar stores, or buy non-sustainable products online. The current online e-commerce options for consumers of sustainable, certified products are limited.

While consumers struggle to find sustainable products locally at affordable prices, suppliers also suffer. Producers and distributors of organic foods and other sustainable products have been denied access to bank loans and peer-based investments. 

In addition to solving issues with the price and availability of sustainable products, the Mango token and related platforms will also help codify the standards used to certify organic foods and sustainable products. These traditionally suffer from a lack of uniform standards to define their “sustainability” characteristics on a global level.

Several overlapping sets of sustainability standards already exist, yet there is no consistent way for consumers to compare across an entire category of products. These issues combine to inflate retail pricing for consumers and cause operating challenges for producers of sustainable products. Mango will help reduce complexity and save money for all stakeholders in its eco-system.

 

How it works

The Mango utility token based on smart contracts will provide a decentralized, trustless currency for sustainability-minded consumers and producers through the Mango Aire e-commerce platform, Mango Bahia vegetarian restaurants, and related platforms. Consumers worldwide will be able to buy and sell vegetarian foods and other certified-sustainable products and services through secure e-commerce or bricks and mortar locations. The Mango will reduce the need for intermediaries and lower costs, while bringing consumers, producers and investors together into a sustainable-lifestyle ecosystem. 

 

The Mango token will serve as: 

(A) Funding for development of Mango Aire and Mango Bahia platforms and applications 

(B) Medium of exchange for buyers and sellers on the Mango Aire platform 

(C) Customer payments to producers, sellers and franchisees of sustainable products & services at Mango Bahia restaurants and delivery points

(D) Source of commercial credit for producers, sellers and franchisees of sustainable products & services

(E) Compensation for workers and staff in sustainable industries;

(F) Medium of exchange for investors in the overall sustainable lifestyle and green marketplace;

 

Mango is a digital utility token

The Mango will be released as an asset-backed digital utility token based on Ethereum smart contracts. This standard facilitates interoperability and ensures that the Mango will have initial functionality including transferability. The development team will build additional features into the Mango's smart contracts to improve security and comply with SEC regulatory requirements.

Islam McNeal is Co-Founder and CEO of Mango Bahia, Mango Aire and related companies. He is a lifelong vegetarian with 5 years of food service and restaurant development experience. Islam grew up in Delaware and served in the U.S Navy and National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. After his legal studies at UMUC, he soon “went entrepreneur.” Islam works toward a more sustainable world for all. His vision is for an international platform focused on sustainable e-commerce, as well as a chain of healthful restaurants to serve the growing demand for tasty, affordable vegan fast food worldwide. His passion is making vegetarian foods and other sustainable products available to everyone.

Management has a proven track record in e-commerce and sustainable development. Since 2006, the Mango Bahia management team has focused on the sustainable-lifestyle space, including the vegan/vegetarian-fast food marketplace.

The team either already includes or has access to expert help with regard to all matters of e-commerce and sustainable development, vegetarian food service development, financing, design and engineering, procurement and supply regarding the entire sustainable-products sector.
